IW on life support ...

Executives from activision yesterday fired the creative heads of IW. Hard to feel sorry for the bastards that ruined my fav. game. Actually, looks like a repeat of the split of IW from EA that started the COD franchise in the first place. One thing is for sure, they effed up MW2. Maybe this is their special place in hell.

My guess would be another start up gaming company on the horizon. With the bean counters now in charge of the next COD titles, I don't hold out much hope for the franchise. More IW.Net?

If was in charge of Activision, I would have fired them too! How they screwed up a great thing with COD series is inexcusable. Like I said from the start, their marketing/management team really screwed this up by ignoring their customers and then followed up by publicly insulting them too.

Hey!Infinity Ward ever hear of "Voice-of-the Customer"?

It looks like the former leadership of Infinity Ward are not going down without a fight. Former Infinity Ward CTO Jason West and president Vince Zampella have officially filed a lawsuit against Activision, according to a press release issued by their law firm, O’Melveny & Myers LLP.......

They were fired for "insubordination", probably couldn't come up with anything better then that.

I read Activision caught wind of the two of them leaving to join EA and that's why they were fired.

Zampella and West claim Activision doesn't want to pay royalties due them.

I didn't read anything about Activision being unhappy with the game or it's sales... who knows.

Guess we'll have more details soon enough..... in the meantime lawyers will be duking it out.
