After playing this game for 100s of hours, blacker showed me how to see my fps. I never used the colsole and have been playing with default settings. Any ideas of a list of settings that might help improve my frame rate? It drops into the red all too often.

First go into options --> graphics

Turn off anti aliasing and put everything else to low or off.

Go to options --> Texture settings change to manual and make everything low.

Play, see what your fps is then start tuning to your liking.

For instance, I like shawdows so I leave it on.

Kinda tinker a bit and find a happy medium.
