Was on a site last night and a guy told me that, if I'm lagging, I should check the connetion with my calculator. When I asked what that was, he, disgustedly said nevermind. I think he was politely calling me a noob. What is a calculator? Or was he blowing smoke up my but?

Maybe he's talking about MTU and MSS settings, couple of links here to totally confuse you, personally I don't mess with that stuff, lag is lag :-/
Wiki Here Some Stuff Here And Here And More Here Or you could just use this simple formula: Example: MSS is 1460, RTTavg is 125ms and advertised download speed is 1500kbps. 125 x 1.5 = 187.5 187.5 x 1500kbps = 281250 281250 divide by 8 = 35156 35156 divide by 1460 (MSS) = 24.07 Round up to next even number = 26 26 x 1460 = 37960 (optimal RWIN) |

LOL Masters in COD5
But speaking frankly, in COD4 I usually I'm aware of angles and line of sight and calculate ways to shoot someone through a wall as soon as he appears in my UAV, so yes, one can be using math in COD ![]() |

Interesting stuff Blind . . . take me awhile to absorb. Thanks for the references. Was a math and Physics major in college so I love this crap, even though I'm a rank neophyte.
