A New Initiative: HUNTERBEAN CAFE (non-profit) BACKGROUND: Being an Architect by trade, I've witnessed many projects getting built. I know from experience that anything is possible if there is will, experience and talent to see it through. The other day in Brooklyn, my wife and 7 year old were playing in the park when they heard shots which sent them and everyone running. This is the first time I've every known that shots where fired and well, that was way to close for me, which brings me to yet another initiative I've decided to pursue, for it is obvious that there is a need: HunterBean Cafe will be a place where older teens can come and play online games for free in exchange for help with maintenance of the facility. It is hoped that they will pick up good social behaviors and attitudes, be a HunterBean (HackHunters.com) and maybe pickup some useful information about computer technology & software, all in hopes of improving their outlook on life. To make this initiative work I will proceed as follows: 1) Draw up a concept plan and renderings of what the place might look like. 2) As a volunteer coach for the Brooklyn Youth Association, I will approach them for their organizational skills, experience and oversight of the program. 3) Create a financial plan. 4) Look for people willing to pledge some donation to the project via HackHunter's website (as this will be part of HunterBean Cafe). 5) Look for corporate sponsors to fund the majority of the project. 6) Look for a specific space, hire a contractor and oversee it's construction. 7) Open it and spread the word. Feel free to comment on the concept. It would be greatly appreciated.
