hi there
well as many of you know the HiszY Servers run on a custom modified ioQuake3 version, bascially this mod just consists in little server side fixes, optimizations and improvements, from client side the only noticeable thing is that it will automatically set just the necessary variables needed to be able to properlly experince the game and due the way the client is designed they will made, this is, they will be saved, on your cfg. this is so becasue without this the servers couldn't really work since the game experience would have been seen really impaired and unfortunately due the nature of the players that frequent our servers it hasn't been found any other possible solution besides this. bellow you have the complete list of variables that the servers set in your client and remember that as explained above they will save in your cfg so before connect make sure to save your previous values into a external cfg file. you can change them anytime you want, they will only set once at each connection time, although as explained on the comments bellow this should be universal settings for any nowdays client/server setup so generally you shouldn't need to change them, under most of the most cases by change them as much you'll get the same and not only here, anywhere, so change them it's strongly discouraged. cg_ammoWarning 0 // obvious, to get rid of the ammo limitation spam message all the time cg_smoothClients 1 // this is supossed to make the display of other players more smooth so preferabely activate it cg_predictitems 0 // it's said that in some cases 1 could fail so better leave it off cg_nopredict 0 // obvious, predict movement client side cl_packetdup 0 // it has been found absolutely no difference with other values so better disable it cl_timeNudge 0 // in no case negative values will really decrease your ping it's just placebo and it will mess your game graphic display so always better leave this at 0 cl_maxpackets 125 // maximum and 'standard' value only decrease this in case of very low upload bandwidth snaps 125 // maximum and recommended value, universal, since lower values can work the same but since values that exceed the server settings will get capped server side this way you will always have the maximum optimum room without the need for corrections rate 193500 // maximum and recommended value, universal, since lower values can work the same but since values that exceed the server settings will get capped server side this way you will always have the maximum optimum room without the need for corrections com_maxfps 125 // recommended and 'standard' fps for online gaming either higher or lower values are proven to cause different kind problems finally just say that since these are custom modified servers do not report problems you found in these servers to the ioQuake3 and/or excessiveplus developer's team, at least, not initially. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

xDD I never finished this post. well it seems that some of the features I added where also added on the E+ and since no one cared about this or report any problem (I think that, at the moment, there's no major problems) then I'll close this thread for now.
I'll start to re-work on this again to make the differnce ![]() -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
