About Us

Masters of The Obvious [CV] Carpe Vacca

The clan was formed in September 2000. It is hard to pinpoint all the original members but Holden Caulfield, Dirk Diggler, BadforU, 1Bravo are among them. The first website was posted on 9/9/00 by Holden. The original crew played matches in The Rumble, it was primarily Rainbow series ladder. Our first match took place on 9/21/00.

Soon after the MOO clan started a very fast growth spurt. 2Bravo, Deep6 and 3Bravo joined. Intimidator, Full Monty joined soon thereafter, followed by Lord of the Flies and muerte The clan made a steady climb up the Rogue Spear Rumble Ladder. To my recollection we were number three in the Rumble as our highest placement.

In the middle of 2001 we became very dissatisfied with The Rumble rules. Their rule [show more] s seemed to discourage top ranked teams from accepting challenges from lower ranking. There was also quite a bit of unpunished cheating. We tried to convince The Rumble administration to make some changes. Our attempts backfired on us and our lives in The Rumble was made miserable.

At that time MOO already had a stellar reputation in Rainbow Series gaming. We decided to start our own Ladder. Under the direction of Holden and Deep6 we ventured out into the laddering business. Most of MOO clan members were instrumental in the ladder development and administration. The ladder we founded is TheCombatZone! It took off right from the start! Within a year it had more than 2000 members and hundreds of teams.

MOO also continued to grow! It was at about this time that we picked up the Texans Vtwin, Hondo and Ibanez. Trekker came in soon after. We have always averaged around 20 members. Some members have gone and come back. Some have lost interest. But we always managed to keep a fun friendly team.

We did quite well under TheCombatZone rules Since we were ladder administration we had a special rule for the MOO team! Every time we reach the number one ranking in the ladder we would be kicked down to last place and start again. This was frustrating for some clan members but it was exciting for most of us. It was really neat working our way up to the top!

In 2002 Team Aggression 2 merged with MOO We picked up players like Wicked and Wild. Later in the year we merged with Soldiers Without a War. We took their name but kept the CV tag. That merger did not last long! The team was huge at 30 some members and interpersonal dynamics became a problem. We parted in great terms and we still consider the SWAW gang our brothers. Two of them Rage and Biggs decided to stay with MOO.

At about the same time there was a difference of opinion with one of our founders as to the direction the clan should be taking. Unfortunately that led to Holden, Dirk leaving the MOO clan and starting their own clan Bohica.

Fortunately the MOO clan survived the ordeals of 2002 well. We continue to be a fun group of guys whose only mission is to have fun. The victories are just secondary! [show less]
