Mired in an overall slump, the once recession-proof video game industry is finally experiencing some adverse effects from the troubled economy.
Just ask Sony. The games giant saw losses pretty much across the board in the year's first quarter, as sales of its flagship Playstation 3 system fell from last year's 1.6 million to only 1.1 million. Its PSP handheld saw a huge drop, too, from 3.7 million to only 1.2 million. The one bright spot? The nine year-old Playstation 2, which managed to outsell the PS3 by roughly 500,000 units despite being older than some of its fans. |

Well I guess 100.00 is alot cheaper than 300.00 (about 200.00)lol. Maybe the PS3 will start to sell when the PS4 is out.

I also saw that Sony is going to be announcing the slimmed down version of the PS3 next week. And they will be dropping the price on the 80 gigs as well. No word on how much the slim version will be yet, but I will bet it is less than 250.00.

Actually the Jaguar was a good console, well at least it wasnt one of the 10 worst. I think the Jaguar was the first or one of the first to use CD's instead of cartridges. There is two Jaguars systems in my basement right now!

Actually the Sega Master system was the first to use CD's. In 1995 the releases of the Sega Saturn and the Sony PlayStation brought the end for the Jaguar. The failure of the Jaguar put Atari into a poor financial situation and forced it to reverse merge with JTS Inc., a short-lived maker of hard disk drives, to form JTS Corporation. The merger effectively ended the company, which existed as a small department for minor support of the Jaguar and the selling off of Atari's intellectual properties. Programmers also reported that the Jaguar was hard to program for.
