*** Recent ROCKTGULCH Server Downage (and FIX) **** 11/19/08

As of late evening 11/19/08, ROCKTGULCH experienced a game shutdown during gameplay. Fortunately, I was in the game at the time and was aware of the situation. UNfortunately, however, upon restarting the server GameSpy did not list the server at all afterwards. I finally was able to figure out a fix for the problem and resolved it, but only after the server was offline from GameSpy for more than a couple of hours. The good news is that, should this happen in the future, I now have a means by which I can now "force" a reset of GameSpy so that the server reappears in the Halo Internet Lobby within 5-10 minutes of such an event (I am calling it the "GameSpy Triangle" since servers enter it and seem to disappear and not come back! Lol). What I have found is that during these GameSpy "blips", even though the server is not listed in the Halo Internet Lobby, gamers can still join the game via Direct IP instead. *** Just remember though, you must enter the IP address AND the port address of the server in Halo in order to connect to it. For example, ROCKTGULCH's IP address is 208.167.251.233, and the port is 2302, so when inputting this information into Halo for connecting via Direct IP, you will enter the address as... 208.167.251.233:2302 (no spaces, and don't forget to put the colon ":" between the IP and port). In order to find the Direct IP needed to join a particular ñc server, just click on the server name in question below and the IP will be listed on the server info and stats page.
