I have to say if this isn't the stupidest crap I've ever seen, we app for mod and some guy comes in and he sucks at it when there are people WAY more qualified for the job than he is. I'm not saying that you should remove him I'm just saying it was a mistake I've seen what he has done and its an abuse of power. (Reaper is who I mean btw) If you would actually red the mod apps there are good people who have been on OS2 for a long time and know what they are doing.

Since this thread is still open, I might as well put in for this.
Steam Name: {sc} Lindale FF Steam Community Page link: http://steamcommunity.com/id/LindaleFF/ SteamID: If I format correctly, it should be STEAM_0:0:42606767 Why do you want to be a Mod: OS#2 is one of the only servers I go to anymore. Since I already come to the server quite frequently, I might as well do some contributing while I am around. Do you know how to record Demos: Alas, I do not. Hopefully, that tutorial page will be easy enough to follow. Have you been a Mod or Admin of a server before: As far as TF2 is concerned, yes. For quite a long time, I was one of the Admins of the {SC} Traderz server (before it went defunct from owner neglect). Outside of TF2, I am also a Moderator on GameFront Forums. Lastly, I am one of the Admirals of the fleet, C.O.D.E. (Star Trek Online), as well as being a Moderator of their website (Technically, there are only 3 Moderators, myself, the Admin, and the Owner of the fleet.)

dusty01 wrote: He got the job because one of my admins stuck his neck out and said that he would vouch for him. I run SGC and Geekstrada (who runs OS) and I go back many years. He asked me to set the servers up for him and I basically interpret my title (if there is one) to be "Head Admin In Charge of TF2 Server Operations". Geekstrada is pretty busy and I have my SGC admins come into the OS servers when possible. Keep in mind that SGC has about 15 servers, consisting of L4D, L4D2, TF2, Serious Sam 3, and a few others. They keep us pretty busy, but we try to hit all of the servers when we can. Most of the time we don't announce that we are admins to catch players who only screw around when admins aren't around. FYI. dusty01 wrote: Like I mentioned above, we take our time in making someone a Mod as well as giving our own SGC admins more abilities. We've seen enough abuse since SGC was created in 2004 to know it needs to be a slow process. We don't give Mods full admin powers because it is too easy to abuse. I have already stripped one OS Mod of his abilities because a demo was recorded of him abusing his powers and it was submitted to me. If you see any Mod or Admin (SGC included) abusing, or your interpretation of abusing, their powers, start recording Demos preferably 5-10 minutes in length, then submit it to me or one of the other admins. If you aren't on my Steam Friends, you can ask here how to submit it for review. I don't want a YouTube video either. A demo created in TF2 is much more valuable. For tips and commands used for recording Demos, see: http://tf2wiki.net/wiki/help:recording_demos The main commands that I use are: Record <filename> Stop Demoui2 (or Shift+F2 at the main menu) If that link doesn't work for some reason when I post this message, I will find a better link. BTW, that process on recording demos also works in L4D and L4D2, possibly other Source games too, like CSS, but I haven't tested in CSS. Anyway, read through the information on that site and record some test demos, then watch them on your own system. I can't recommend recording demos enough, because they don't record video the way programs like Fraps does. It records events and data so the files end up being smaller. Being that it records events and data, when you or anyone watches your demos, they can look at Console and see everything that was typed in chat as well as other events that were recorded in your console. So if you type the "Status" command, which I want done several times while you are recording demos, I can see the results of the Status command in console while I am watching it later on my computer. So anyway, if no official admins are in the servers to see Mod abuse, record demos to submit for evidence. I want the Mods doing this anyway when someone breaks the rules so that the evidence can be used against someone if they want to protest being kicked or if an admin ends up banning them. Besides, if Mods know that demos are being recorded and they are abusing, they will either quit abusing or get dealt with. Plus, we ask if you know how to record demos on the Mod application, so this is a good way to get in practice in case some of the admins play with you long enough to make a recommendation.

sure we may have to wait... but then again you guys have to keep in mind its not our descision. like geek stated, admin vouched for him in order for him to be moderator. whether or not we get the position of a higher plane to help the server, is not our choice. sure we applied for it but..... that doesnt crown us king or queen or make us any more important, in the end its geeks word that makes us a moderator or not....
