In the spirit of making the OD games fun for all, we need to define and then limit the spawn camping. It is hugely dissatisfing to die, wait 10 sec, spawn back in your own area and then be killed by someone waiting for people to spawn. We have been putting up admin messages that periodically warn people against it. We have now added a specific "spawn killing" kick message/action.
In my mind, spawn camping is going up in the area denoted by the blue box for attackers - where tanks, vehicles and UAVs regenerate and killing people as they spawn. As an example, on the section of Arica Harbor where B is the first rail card and A is the disabled bus, moving in to the immediate buildings under contruction (blue fencing) and the building that were the previous objectives are acceptable. IMHO, moving this far forward allows a team to disrupt attacks as they come forward, but not to the point of killing people as they spawn. Comments counter points are most welcome. Just to state the obvious: moving into spawn areas with the intent of teabagging inanimate objects and not killing real players continues to be acceptable. |
