I enjoy a good explosion as much as the next guy, but perhaps the time has come to evaluate how much c2 is often used just because it sounds cool rather than being the most practical way to deal with a locked door or some type of dynamic entry.
When should c2 be used? It's a great diversion to draw attention away from the primary entry point. It's effective within a certain radius to stun and even, at very close range, incapacitate suspects (or civilians). When should it be used cautiously? Small rooms where the likelihood of taking down the room occupants is high. When it's possible that there are civilians or other non-threatening contacts in the blast radius, it's advisable to perhaps mirror the door to get a picture of what is behind the door. When should it never be used? On closets, small bathrooms, as a diversion for stupid taser and pepper spray rushes. When it's determined that civilians are very close to the door or could wander close to the door just prior to the charge being detonated. You may even decide on a less dangerous shotgun breach. Many times a simple picking of the lock yields the desired result and maintains your covert advance. So, the next time you're thinking of ordering up a C2 charge for a room entry or door breach, think of the other options. You may just come up with something that works better in that situation. On a final note, if you're going to used C2, be sure that everyone knows to wait for the GOGOGO order before detenating. Also, time your tacaid release so that the grenade passes through the splintering debris. It looks much better than the C2 going off before the tacaid pin is pulled or released. A good indicator is to watch the arm of the demolition man. He will visually count down the explosion from three. When he drops his arm the third time, let it fly! In tough situations, if you are able to reach back for something extra, then you weren't trying hard enough to begin with! You are only out-gunned if you miss! If you want a fair fight, see a boxing match. Graveyards are full of blokes who fight fair. |

Interesting. I'll make a note to refrain from using C2 on the tiny bathroom on Fresnal St. Station now, lol. And throwing the bang just before the door explodes is something I should incorporate into my playing.

hehe i always try not to use the C2, it just takes too much time to set, but on certain maps it actually does work extremely well.

Such small air volume in the bathrooms you describe would contra-indicate its use under normal circumstances. Their ears would really be hurting
