Hi. I'm somewhat new at playing online, but have had some nice experiences joining your server and decided to look your website up. I do have a particular question, though.
Today I began experiencing some very frustrating lag while connecting to this server's maps and finally, on the Wake Island map, I got kicked by the admin for having a high ping of 410. Not being a tech kind of geek (I use 'em, but I'm only a few rungs above the "computers are run by magic smoke and fail when it escapes" level of technical expertise) I tried searching for information. Unfortunately, it seems contradictory. According to Almighty Google, I should only be experiencing that sort of lag with a low ping. Can anyone help the poor n00b? |

If you have not been having lag problems then all of a sudden you are that would suggest to me that either YOUR ISP (internet service provider) is having some problems or maybe one of the "hops" between you and the server is having issues.
Generally the lower your ping the less lag you will experience. I would say call your isp and ask them whats going on! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Thanks for the info! I should have done more research on what a ping was. After reading what you said, I looked up some more and I'm guessing that the higher the ping number, the longer it's taking to receive packets. That's making more sense.
I'm going to give the server another try, and then if the problem's still there I'm going to do as you suggested and contact my ISP. Thanks again. |
