To become admin, you have to be appointed by a server owner usually for thier server only, by doing some tasks such as being a "police unit" as i was and is

we are gathering rules for that actually. however in place is like this.

Basic Things we look for:
Maturity
Have they been banned?
How active are they?
With whatever rights they have at that time, did they use them correctly?
Are they helpfull to the average player

after so much time, you become a respected player. That gives you very basic rights. almost nothing.

then you become a basic admin. which means you can kick people and have kick immunity from normal people.

then mid lvl admins

then senior admins

then maybe server owner

however for server owners, at this time we are not allowing more because we have so many now.

you have to work your way up the chain. and at this point, when you hit the next step varies person by person. Mostly we go off how well liked the person is by the admins, and they have to be suggested for admin, BY and admin. This all depends on what the senior admins decide. You will never know if your being looked at for admin. This is kept between top level personnel. However, we do try to keep clan admins to a certain number as to not go overboard with the admins.

generally you will not get admin in the clan unless you have been tested in an individual server. This gives a good idea if power will be abused and if it is, will limit it to only 1 server.

this was a fairly legit question, though possibly in the wrong place. BUT now you all have an idea of what to do if you have hopes of becoming an admin. But, once again, we are in the process of fine tuning rules to become an admin. those are just the loose guidelines set now.

Wait, I thought doodle got in by default since he's an admin now.

In case this hasn't been addressed publicly yet, NO. Just because someone has been appointed as admin by a server owner, doesn't make them a member of the clan. If you think that through, you should be able to realize how many problems there are with that.

Plus, if someone belongs to a clan already (in which most clans that I know of, as also adopted by SGC before I joined, have a policy that you can't be in 2 clans at once for loyalty sake), they would then have to decide which clan they want to be in or they can't admin in our server(s).

There really is no "by default" with us in my mind. It wasn't until clan membership started to get requested by players after the September 2009 time-frame, that I had to backtrack to those that were with us constantly since Feb. 2009 and ask if they wanted to be in the clan or if they felt that they already were based upon certain criteria and all gave their thoughts and I decided on them right then based upon the circumstances.

SGC has grown larger than it ever has been and we now have to make more rules, guidelines, and provisions for the circumstances that are around us. This also means more delays in decisions and being stricter with certain decisions and actions. All I can ask for is for everyone to try and be patient as we iron out details for the existing issues and try to meet and head off future issues.
