hi

i think i've found a fix for the explosive barrel error.

i've tried it today on 2 servers and i CAN see the barrel. NO error anymore.
for me it seems to work. if anyone of u wants to try it, just message me via steam.
(no guarantee, that it works)

(u need to add some files to ur game folder, but i cant attatch them in this forum.)

So this means that you get to see the explosive barrels but everyone else in the server gets to see "ERROR" signs???

the fix works only for ur pc. so: u need the files on ur pc, to see the barrel.

without the files, u will still see the red error.


i have no idea, if the server could load the vpk file. it is not a campaign or any other playable map. the vpk file contains just the models / skins of the barrel etc..

if u want, u can get the files, too. just send me a message via steam.

well, we will see, after the release (5th october 2010) of the "The Sacrifice" DLC.
(hope it doesnt screw up the game as the last DLC)

That DLC is going to ruin everything... It better be worth it, not looking forward to another passing.

i've made a new version of the barrel.vpk.
(Panda tried it for me, and it seems to work again)

this is still the red explosive barrel. untill now i didnt find a way to spawn the "new" barrel from the sacrifice. (so the server must have a campaign with the red barrel, or it wont work on the server.)

with this fix u can see the barrel. it is no longer invisible.
