In the videos you can see a tidal surge hitting the city of Santa Cruz (California, U.S.) The city is famous for skateboards and surfing.

Japan is 10,000 km away from Santa Cruz

Seems like the wave has lost alot of it's destructive power after traveling that large distance, good thing for the people there, the damage wont be to bad.

Yes, its amazing the wave can travel that far.

This picture was made by a u.s. government supercomputer. The computer used information that came from satellites which received information from dozens of U.S. tsunami tracking stations in the pacific ocean. The sensors for the stations are very deep underwater. ( 5km or 3 miles)

Thanks god im in another side of planet... and in holland veryy veryy rarely they have this stuffs.

But in portugal i suffered many earth shakes... last 2times i really thing im going to die... my house was shaking and everything falling, (a old historic house who broke easier than legos pieces if come a bigger one) and another time i was in a class... everybody start scream and run, total caos!
it was in the school a temporary class of 7years children (cause is school was being repaired) and the teacher run away and let the kids alone crying!
I knowed some of the kids, was coach of them in atlethics in the afternoons, grab 2 who was frozen, 1come in my backs squezing my neck whit fear, and another in my arms while the rest come in my backs grabed to me and each others to dont get loose in midle of panic people. i could not let them there... was afrayd of the building fall because was creating ruptures in the wall, even being made to support this nature angryness.

in 1755 Portugal had one like japanese, and soon we will have another, when i dont know... can be today, next week, or i dont will be alive to feel it, but he is coming cause the earth shakes are gaining strong and being more often in the area..
