Dayummmm going i7 already. My liquid cooled e8600 whimpers in fear. I'm delaying upgrading as long as I can stand it, haha.

upgrade on hold due to shitty water cooler design. <sigh> waiting for motherboard to dry off so I can check for permanent damage.

sweetness...it was a nail biter but after a day of going through errors during post we finally got it stable. I was panicking because the damn thing would just shut down on it's own with no consistency, no specific point doing boot. Just random shut downs. I started undoing everything slowly and testing. Not sure if it was the graphics card or the cpu but reseating both finally brought us home.

This baby is fast...As soon as I got the jam off my screen and everything working I turned her up to ludicrous speed, next thing I know I'm passing a Winnebago and everything went plaid. According to my BIOS it's the 19th already here but it's the 18th where you are as I type this. Vista updates are running and bringing us back to the 18th so hopefully soon I'll be able to fire up COD and check her out.

everything is up...no benchmarks to report yet but Seelow loaded in 3 seconds so I know it's frickin fast.

I was having connection issues last night but that should be fixable. Probably some EMI with my wireless card...worst case scenario I'll punch some holes in the wall and run a 30 footer to the router.
