I will type up my essay at a later time.

I was playing L4D the other night, and I joined a server where their MOTD set off my anti-virus. I was prompted an alert regarding a worm, and my L4D froze immediately. Since then, my computer won't boot into safe mode, and explorer.exe kept freezing. I spent 6 hours trying to fix it, but in the end, I had no choice but to format my computer. Becareful when joining a new server, as their MOTD can point you to any website. Steam uses an imbedded IE, and any vulnerabilities that IE has can be exploited. I have set my IE to the highest security settings now, and disabled scripts and Java for it.

The screenshot above is to show Smash what my fresh Windows XP SP3 looks like with a custom UI - SlanXP.

I suggest that you guys use Mozilla Firefox as your main web browser, and turn up the IE security settings to the max. Even if you avoid the server that I went to, you might join another server that does the exact same thing.
