For anyone having problems with their game, please post screenshot of of both of these folders:

left 4 dead\left4dead\missions



This way I can see if there is anything conflicting and causing problems in your game. I already checked Charlie so don't sweat it bro.

Yeah nothing really changed. It might be that weapon sound add-on, since that's the only add-on I have other than yours. Will remove it and check in later.

So um. I removed that weapon sound add-on, nothing changed. Removed your add-ons just in case, and the game was still buggy. So I'm guessing the files decided to corrupt themselves out of the blue, just to make my eyes bleed `-`

yeah it happend to me someday i had to reinstall it, hope it isn't that bad for you.

I just don't play Crash Course any more, since it immediately sends me to desktop. But I'll get over it

That's very strange. It's possible those particular files for crash course got screwed up. What about other servers or in single player mode, does it still happen?

And I've lowered the settings on the server, that should help somewhat (and I've noticed peoples games now load faster). I just wish L4D didn't have a stupid memory limit. You can have 16GB of RAM on your PC, but L4D is still limited to less than 2GB.

Yeah it happens everywhere. The files are simply corrupted, I'll redownload it at some point.
