First off, hi *AA* All Action 2142 forum! It looks like I was banned from your server, I'm not totally sure why but I believe it had to do with "worf5" mistakenly believing that I had broken server rules. He had said I had planted rdx on the flag in an event that as follows:

The game was bf 2142 on the map Cebere Landing. I had picked the recon kit for my spawn and picked a sniper rifle, apms, and rdx. I had picked the sniper rifle instead of the lambert because I felt that the lambert is too outclassed by all other automatic weapons used in the game. I had picked apms and rdx over active camouflage because the active camouflage equipment is much more of a liability in regards to the fact that your position is given away to people using the support class. Also the grubber rifle stablizer isn't really necessary in my opinion!

Undoubtedly, the rdx and apms are extremely helpful at taking out multiple enemies as recon because so many of the maps are close range maps making use of the sniper rifle difficult to use. Likewise, the Lambert carbine's short range and low damage makes it very unlikely to win in a stand off or killing mutliple enemies at once especially since sneaking around to ambush the enemies is made difficult because of the aforementioned setback of active camouflage.

Additionally using hit and run attacks using the lambert and camo are doubly ineffective due to the predominance of the assault kit and it's defibrillator reviving any kills left behind as you flee. But I digress.

Changing to the situation of which I believe I was banned for started with my sighting of "Worf5" running up to the "flag" (I believe that references to "flag" are referring to the area in which a player can secure a control point). Opting to use my sidearm to subdue "Worf5" from encroaching upon the control point I started to open fire. However I quickly became aware of the extreme disadvantage I had had when I was quickly taken down by a skilled shotgun shot from "Worf5" at close range.

Now seeing the spawn point map I tactfully decided my best option would be to spawn at the control point I surmised "Worf5" was headed to. Once spawned, I quickly ran to the flag, as I believed it was all ready in the process of being captured. I was surprised to see that my assumption was incorrect and decided my best option would be to hide and surprise "worf5" who I presumed to still be lurking nearby. I decided that the truck next to the flag would be a good spot and jumped upon it.

Keeping a lookout, no sooner had I embarked upon the cab of the vehicle did I spot "Worf5", still unalerted to my presence, headed towards me and the flag. Remembering out previous encounter and his skilled use of the clark shotgun at close range, I thought it would be highly unlikely for me to beat him one versus one with my pistol, as although he did not see me yet, he was facing in my general direction.

I quickly switched to the rdx explosives which I possessed. Acting fast, I hurled the rdx in the direction of the presumed path of "worf5" and turned to jump. But it was already too late, he had spotted me. I Flinched as I heard the single shot gun blast. Yet unbelievably he had missed, the pellets missing only by mere inches, undoubtedly do only to high ping "worf5" possessed.

"Yes!", I thought. Not to let this chance go I acted hastily and went prone, not as much as to avoid the next shotgun blast but to adhere to the rules of the server where I must not commit a suicidal act with the rdx. I quickly pulled out the detonator and pressed the button. The screen shook and blurred and my headphones filled with ringing. However I was relieved to see that my gambit had succeeded when I saw the word "You have killed AA Worf5" on my screen. However I was quickly surprised and disheartened to see the next words I saw, from "worf5" himself.

I was being accused of placing rdx on the flag! From my understanding of the floating rules text and getting second hand information on the rules, "RDX on the flag" constitutes placing rdx within the control area while there are no enemies there and lying in wait for the enemy or the flag to go neutral and then detonating the explosives, obviously not what I had done. While I wholeheartedly agree that it is entirely up to the administrator of the server's discretion to decide what is and what is not allowed, from what I had been told I was not breaking the rules

On the other hand, I still feel compelled to add that to place enough rdx to kill everyone in the control point would be blatantly obvious to anyone approaching said control point. Furthermore, every kit besides assault includes as way to deal with rdx directly (and maybe including assault using a defibrillator, indirectly). Although many player and even sometimes all on a given side will be playing the assault kit for one reason or another,so they'd be the least like to handle the charges. Yet still the rules are for the server administrator to decide.

Regardless, I quickly attempted to defend myself explaining the situation and reasoning to my understanding of the rules that I was justified in my actions. All the same, my explaining was quickly brushed off as "excuses" with citing of apparent previous violations within the same night. The only other use of rdx near of a flag that night that I had done that night was throwing rdx over the wall at the first control point on the map "Fall of Berlin", a control point that was already neutral due to opposing players on it which I further had to run across the road to get to.

Understanding these facts, I must also add that here I cannot see the rdx land and trying to detonate it before it has will cause you to place a charge at your feet negating the whole exercise. Not to mention if I were assault I could simply saturate the area with air bursting rockets which are so common amongst players using the assault kit, a tactic which would be much safer and more effective considering their range.

Finally, I was then spottily banned from the server with no explanation. Not quite understanding I asked my buddylist buddy Iowa_killya and thankfully he explained to me that I must come here and attempt to appeal my ban. Which is what I'd like to do. I think I bring quite a bit more diversity to the games which are played here, a good foil to the thralls of the common kit loadouts you see.
