First time ban, apologies. I didn't see that in the list of rules when logging in but if that's a rule then I understand. Just didn't realize it was a rule on your server and considered it as part of normal game play.

To be fair, not shooting into spawn is not on our list of rules that you accept. Listening to an following the instructions of an admin is. I had warned you on 2 different occasions, once in all chat and once in admin chat where the text is displayed in white in the middle of the screen. You ignored both warnings which is why I issued the ban.


I believe you understand the seriousness of breaking our rules and expect you will adhere to them in the future. Your ban has be lifted and you may resume play on our servers again.

Hey Sandy / Greek, sorry to hijack another thread but any chance you guys have an update on my ban (see: https://www.gametracker.com/clan/www.475thrangers.com/forum.php?thread=132105)? I've tried reaching out several different ways but no avail. Just want to get to the bottom of it.

I contacted the admin who issued the ban and have asked him to address this. I either misunderstood 2 pieces of information or else what was submitted was conflicting. If I don't hear from him within the next 24 hours, I feel that I have no choice but to reverse the ban. I'll be in contact.

Hi Sandy (and Spoon)... there were two players exhibiting the same apparent exploit. I did retract the permanent ban for the other player, and to be fair, I agree that Spoon should also get the same treatment... I spectated
them both and observed, with weapons that do have without a doubt recoil, that there did not appear to be any for these two during play. I will continue to monitor these players while I am on the server, but concur that Spoon's ban should be rolled back the same as the other player, as I see it, and this would expire on 25 Sep 2017 - 23:18:00 as the other player's ban is scheduled to expire then. Thanks for getting back to me.

If possible could you reference a date and time and any other information you have about when you observed me having no recoil? I'm not being pedantic, but any evidence you supply could be helpful.

While I appreciate the ban being reduced, I'm not happy about being accused of cheating when I absolutely am not (and have never). Group punishment isn't all that fair in my opinion.

However having said that, with limited evidence presented to you and observing something which you believe to be in violation of the rules- I can empathise with your situation. Therefore I'll sit out this ban without further complaint.

Difficult scenario but is there recordings I could have a look at? I'm worried that this happens again and I'm accused. Again, not being difficult, being realistic to try and solve the problem.

I just clicked the link KitKat sent to the ban server and have to say I'm disgusted by the notes (which apparently I can see as a public user)...

Greek, just to clarify, why exactly am I an a-hole and why should I be permabanned for something I didn't do (as per your notes below)?

I would just like to point out as per your very own rules, being disrespectful to players and wrongfully accusing someone as cheating is in your very own rule book - which you seem to be ignoring here?

I've played on the 24/7 servers for a few years now - check my stats. During that time I've had absolutely no problems or quarrels with anyone. Certainly not any more than the normal player. I was unhappy, yet understandable, about the ban in place (and I still absolutely protest my innocence) but now it feels somewhat like a randomly targeted attack which I did nothing to provoke? I'm sure you'll have a different opinion so I welcome your views here.

Sorry but I know, as Greek has said in the past, "Playing on our servers are a privilege, not a right", and he's absolutely right. But the one reason many people come back is for the normal community - not the admins. I certainly have done absolutely nothing to deserve being called an a-hole and being randomly permabanned just because an admin doesn't like me due to a long forgotten disagreement that should be completely water under the bridge. However, apparently not.

The irony is of course, i've been looking forward to coming back so keep checking in here, the stats tracker, and now the ban portal. I wouldn't have started pressing the "more info" button or looking for any more information if my ban had indeed been rolled back as it should have.

Further to the above, I see that the ban was placed at what appears to be 1:57 am on the 12th of September. According to the 475th stats site (http://marauders.hlstatsx.com/player_histories/events/306796) I wasn't online at that time. If we also look at KitKat's event history (http://marauders.hlstatsx.com/player_histories/events/340486) I don't see him online at all on the 11th, 12th or 13th around the same time. Granted this doesn't take into account two things; Timezones can be an issue here and KitKat didn't necessarily need to have banned me immediately after he claims he witnessed me cheating. And secondly, as Greek alluded, admins may not show up in the server connection logs if they're doing something else, but it just doesn't stack up to me.

I would therefore like to request that my ban be lifted completely if possible Sandy as I believe this entire thing has been mishandled from the word go. If playing on the servers require me to screen record every session and upload it at the end of play for a time, I'll happily do that. Albeit I think it's a little excessive.

I am encouraging ALL admins to ensure that they try to gather evidence for the ban being issued. Please understand that we cannot capture it each time as things may happen quickly. This also would require each of us to record all of our game play which may fill up hard drives quickly. But we will work to do a better job in this area. We will also work to conduct ourselves in a more appropriate manner. I apologize for the unkind words Greek entered about you and it won't happen again.

Effective immediately, the ban has been reversed and you may resume normal play.
