Can you guys define "lamers" please?
I was told on one occasion that MGs were not subject to being labled as "lamers". What the difference between laming and good defense? I was guarding three different avenues of advance and two flags. I was not invincible as I got shot several times. I changed positions when I thought they were hunting me. What gives? Several of the opposing players were camping our spawn and I stopped them. Next thing I know I'm threatened with kick/ban via MOTD. Defense is the ultimate compliment to offense. If that's "lame" I can find other servers no problem. Just wondering if "Lamers" is a real thing or if someone on the opposite team was just getting pissy because they couldn't spawn camp? Don't get me wrong I like 99% of the rules on these servers. I just don't understand what a lamer is. Sincerely, Quality

For me, if you are one of those players that prone at the last flag all the time with a mg or auto, and sit there all game, never moving up even if your team has pushed past the middle of the map...you are a lamer.
Or you prone/hide in the dark corners or the lame spots, again with a auto just waiting to backshoot someone or catch the players pushing up hard, you are a lamer. Or exploiting the areas that are glitched due to the bad brushes where it takes a near perfect shot or many shots to actually find the unblocked route to you, you are a lamer. But if you are one of those players, I enjoy going out and hunting you all map =P Just my opinion though =) 73 |

Quality,
There is a HUGE difference between defending your first/second flag versus a player that sits at their first/second/third flag while all the fighting is going on at the enemy first/second flag. There is also a HUGE difference in sitting in an apartment in the aforementioned places by 73 along with other places not mentioned with any weapon other than a sniper rifle or mg. Cheap kills are just that - cheap - and if that is what a player is looking to do, they've come to the wrong server. If a player is founding doing these things, they are ineffective to their team and will be considered "laming". They will be warned, kicked and then banned if they choose to continue their behavior. There are other servers that use mods to prevent players from doing this like having their screen fade to black or they start losing life. We don't do this and prior to a few years ago, players didn't have to be told to get involved in the game. It was understood that the objective was to cap all the flags. Hope that clears it up for you. SaintNoMore |

sventithre wrote: I agree with 73 on this one. I love finding the campers and killing them, as I did when Quality was camping on the Church platform. I put a bullet right in your head. That to me is a challenge but RULES are RULES and must be followed, otherwise, you have 15 players on each side camping 1st flag. The next thing you know, the server is empty and that is not what we want. What angers me are all of these guys that say, no big deal, I will go play on another server. Good luck with that. There are not any good servers left unless you want to connect to China or hear little kids swearing and screaming into a mic. Our server is by far the most fun and most populated server. |

Sounds good to me.... the AVA server gets bogged down many times with no one taking the initiative to get any flags because so many people are posted up in their favorite MG position or camping in a corner of the map that seldom is traveled when only a few are playing.

bol4fun wrote: I see this on Ava quite a lot, usually leaving it to me & the bots to cap the last two flags - or worse, when it's mid and the bots take ages to get up there. It slightly bothers me, especially when an MG position blocks the bots but asking people to move up usually results in them doing so. I'll usually hang out in an area with a sniper / MG for a few minutes (5-7) and if I don't see flags being capped (or an attempt) I'll switch weapon and push forward. The only exception to this is when there's quite a number of players on Ava and we're being pushed hard by the other team - in this case, MG at first to defend as long as possible while others push forward and cap 2, 3/4 - which I think is quite a normal thing to do. |

Like i posted, last night it was also a moment when we had to grab just the 3 and nobody made a run for it. I think the game is super as long as you follow the rules and play the objective..its like playing chess with dices haha. |
