This is the first time in history that I have passed up on a new console launch. I debated it. Kinda went something like this: Graphics look amazing on both the new PS4 and XBOX1. Kinda just as amazing as PC has ALWAYS looked. Then really dug in and examined each offering.

XBOX1: Basically an NSA spy tool. Always on and waiting to hear your voice or see your face. A Mic and camera in my living room that's always on...no, no , nooo. Yes, it can be unplugged from the wall but that's not really the point. It's designed to always be on and it doesn't work without the the damn kinect which is of course the mic and camera. 500bux with no games. Add in a game and extra controller and now we are up to 650 bux then taxes and warranty and you are looking at 800 bux. OH and 60.00 bux for online play...$860!!! Are you high microsoft?

PS4: Not as intrusive. Basically same graphics capabilities as XBOX1 if not a tad better. Camera/Mic not required. Always ON not required. 400 bux. Add in game, extra controller...taxes and warranty. 600 bux or thereabouts. Online play is free.

Based on cost alone it's a no brainer and I think we are going to see the fall of the XBOX1 here.

I am on the fence about getting a PS4. There are some exclusive games which I do enjoy but I am not fond of dropping 600 bones to play one game.

Getting it would mean trading in my current xbox360 and my PS3 and all the games.

Not sure if I will do it at some point or not. Not in any rush to decide. Just thinking out loud here.

I could do A LOT to this PC with 600 bux. I could do a lot of anything with 600 bux.

First reports are glitches and hardware issues with a small percentage of PS4 owners on Day1.

Guess I will watch from the sidelines on this one.

I'll end up getting a PS4 eventually...How soon that will be is yet to be determined...I like NOT having to pay to play online, even if the online portion is not highly acclaimed; I'm not paying for it so SHOULDN'T cry about it, but I will to an extent...

XBOX1 - As Jeff stated -- Nope...Not going to buy or play on the NSABOX...It's not a matter of money, but a matter of being forced to have the damn thing online each and every day...No thanks...M$ is already talking about pulling the plug on the XBOX due to lost profits...But let's face it, unless you're an obvious fanboy and have ANY type of technical knowledge about the current ongoing "We're watching you" scenario, you won't think about an XBOX...With all the hype of how Win8 has the possible backdoor for snooping your shit, why would you want to trust them?...

PS4 - I'll wait for more games to come out that interest me...No money for online play...I play sports games and others like GTA on consoles; not a lot of online play...But if I play online, I don't want to have to pay for it as M$ sees fit...PS4 doesn't play PS3 games just yet, so no need for me to attempt to purchase a library of games I don't know that I'll play all that often...Eventually?...Yes, I'll get a PS4...

PS4 is in my future simply for BF4... but also Thief. Didn't know all the NSA crap regarding XB1... but only Cock-smoking Butt-hole surfers play XB... and since I don't enjoy those things; I won't be caring.

I bought my PS3 (40Gig don't ya know) in 2006. It has lasted me all this time, primarily playing BF and a little Red Dead Redemption. In lieu of the longevity and massive return (pleasure & instant gratification) of my investment - I will certainly be shelling out the necessary ducats for the updated "Platform of Pleasure" (in due time).

Might I make a suggestion for you my dear friend Jefferson? If you are not going to allocate those $600 dollars for your new Pleasure Machine... Perhaps you will entertain an ass-load of LED lights for your PC. These have been scientifically proven to make you a better player

None of you have any interest in the new SteamOS? Or is it too much like a gaming PC already? I've owned an XBox360 and I gave it away...consoles never did do it for me. The interface was always too limited and the only way to communicate with other players was via voice, which caused more problems than it ever solved.

I think we need to see the 2 mediums converge, and the Steam thing seems to be going down the right track.

I am very interested in the Steam OS however I already have my PC extended to my TV so I use "the big picture" via steam which is essentially the same thing as a steam box.

Thing is Vince..I already have MAAAADDDD LEDS on my PC. I did however drop 600 bucks on 2 new graphics cards for my 2 networked PC's this past week! See that's what PC Gamers do so they can play BF4 64 man on a real platform!!!!

PS4 Update: Seems there are in fact certain games that require a Playstation Plus membership to play online now. It depends on the developer. Looks like they are moving toward a yearly fee for the popular games.
