Hello, there already was a thread related to this, but it dissapeared somehow. I'd like to ask you for few things making the forum more useful and less annoying:
1) Add the search function ![]() over the whole forum, not the subforums only like now. It could be placed on clan's homepage ![]() and above the forums too, ![]() or at least to the second position. 2) Increase the recent post number on clan's homepage at least to 5, but 10 would be even better. Since we still don't have the "unreaded posts" feature, this is very needed. Thank you.

Hi, is it possible to implement above things? Changing the forum font is nice, but I'd prefer something more important. One more thing:
3) If you're creating a forum post and click on the Image or Thumbnail button, the image or thumbnail is almost never placed where the cursor has been placed. You have to do it again and again and again. Quite annoying. |

We will add an option for clan owners to customize the # of posts that are displayed in the recent posts section.

We've updated the website to accommodate suggestions #1 and #2. Unfortunately, I'm not able to duplicate issue #3.
Just to clarify, the [img] tags aren't being inserted where the cursor is? If so, is there a pattern to how they are being incorrectly placed? Or is it that the final post does not look how you expect it to look?

I'd like to put the image in the empty row. I click on that row, the cursor is active there (blinking). Now I move the pointer to Image button and I press it.
![]() And what happens? ![]() I have to delete it and do it again. If I'm lucky, it works on 2nd try (but often it doesn't). ![]() Now I want to put the image behind the text. I put the cursor there, move the pointer to Image button and press it. ![]() Ah, wrong, no surprise. ![]() Well, again and again, until it's placed correctly. ![]() The Thumbnail has the same problems. Just try it, you'll be surprised where the images appear. Thank you for the Search function! |

Thanks for your detailed explanation. Very strange behavior. It appears the image gets inserted at the beginning of the text area. I'll continue to look into this.
Are you having problems with any of the other bbcode buttons? Do the emoticons/link/email buttons work correctly? What Operating System are you running. In the meantime, once the " ![]() ![]() |

Greetings, good people of GT.com! First off, I'd like to express my appreciation and gratitude for your continued interest and efforts in improving GT's services to its members and clans. Thanks, Mike, death et al, for not settling on something just because it works well enough. That said, since this seems like a good time (and place) for it while the iron's hot, so to speak, I'd like once again to offer some more improvement suggestions as I did in a similar thread a few years ago (which doesn't exist anymore, I believe).
- When a new member joins a clan it would help if the rest of the clan be informed of this through an update posted to each user's personalized Recent Activity section. The same would apply for when a member leaves a clan too. I think you'll agree, such events concern all involved and they'd certainly appreciate being made aware. - Clan members are currently listed randomly in clans' homepages "Clan Members" section instead of in any other fashion that would prevent them being randomly assigned to different pages for clans with >36 members (which makes it very hard to identify new additions, particularly when we don't even know who it is that just joined for reasons mentioned right above), like alphabetically or chronologically. Changing it to either of these 2 methods would improve things and, IMO, chronological sorting would be the more helpful choice especially if join dates were listed under each user's "Member" description as well. - A [code] bbtag for clan msg boards so we can post code or other bodies of script text that won't be parsed and will preserve whitespace formatting. - In msg board search results, posts display the thread they're from in their headers, but not the forum these threads belong to. This format could be made more informative through showing something like "ForumName > ThreadName" where both names would be links themselves instead (thereby removing the need for the "[view]" bit too). Btw, thanks a lot for adding a msg.board-wide search function; a very handy improvement indeed! - One more search-related matter: is it possible to add wildcard search characters support (? and *)? - Lastly, something that's mostly aesthetic and probably an easy tweak, but for some reason it's been sticking out for a while now without anyone mentioning it: members' nicknames are properly capitalized in users' profile pages and in clans' Recent Posts sections, but in users' PMs and in clan msg boards they're displayed in all lowercase chars (Moo will be shown as moo). Can this be fixed plz? Edit: forgot one last observation. The recent increase in clans' Recent Forum Posts sections from 3 to 10 entries seems a bit excessive and eats up quite a bit of screen space that could be used to include parts of other helpful bits. Unless this is clan admin configured, I'd propose reducing it to something a bit more practical in between, like 6-7. Edit2: oops, just noticed that it is, disregard this then I guess :/. Hopefully implementing even some of these suggestions will improve GT's functionality for most users as well as not constitute too big a burden on your site's coder(s). Either way, thanks in advance for listening to users' ideas and for your constant work in supporting and developing a site all of us regard as a steady, daily aid to our online gaming. Cheers, P.
