Hello,
New guy here. I'm trying to install the Mac GT lite Client but I keep getting this error message at the end:

"The installation failed.
The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."



I have tried reinstalling and redownloading it. I'm running Mac OS X 10.7.3 "Lion" with an Intel CPU.
Anyone getting this problem? Any ideas on how to solve it?

You have posted this in the right place. I'm sorry to hear that you are receiving this error.

The GT Lite installer on Mac may have logged more detailed error information in the "Console" app. If you would like, we can use this information to troubleshoot. Searching for "GT" under "Filter" of "All Messages" should be sufficient. Please note that there may be sensitive information in these logs. Thank you for posting the detailed log.

Do you have an instance of GT Lite running on your Mac? This would look like the "GameTracker" "GT" logo in the dock. If so, make sure that GT Lite is not running, then restart the installer.

No, I don't think so. I've never installed GT lite on my Mac before. And there weren't any GT processes running in Activity Monitor.

Thanks for confirming that GT Lite was not previously installed on your Mac. There could be a compatibility bug between GT Lite and your Mac's configuration. I'm going to send your log over to the GT Lite developers to further examine this issue. Any updates will be posted in this thread.

We didn't have any luck recreating this issue in-house. Although, if you're still interested, I do have another possible remedy for you.

1. Download the latest setup for GT Lite Mac from this page: http://www.gametracker.com/downloads/
2. Extract "GTSetup.mpkg" from "GTSetup.tar".
3. Right click on "GTSetup.mpkg", select "Show Package Contents".
4. A finder window will open. Navigate to "Contents/Resources".
5. Right click on "GTLite.pkg", select "Show Package Contents".
6. Navigate to "Contents/Resources".
7. Delete "InstallationCheck".
8. Delete "InstallationCheck.strings".
9. Close the finder window.
10. Install "GTSetup.mpkg".

Let me know if you have any luck with this.
