Gametracker is not resolving my DynDNS addy which is jmdolesky.dyndns-home.com
every weeks when my IP change i have to claim the server once again and re do the banner on =KT=clan website
Tsviewer don't resolve my DNS to an IP adress and thats fine even in their banners it show my DNS addy jmdolesky.dyndns-home.com
but gametracker convert my DNS to an IP
is there some fix please.. i am really lost here

Join port? Query port?

It doesn't really make a difference in terms of scanning if you use the IP or the DNS. It always needs to get to some IP address. If GT is unable to reach the IP, it will recheck the DNS to see if the IP has changed.

It's probably more efficient doing it how GT does, because unlike Tsviewer, GT doesn't re-resolve the ip each and every time it scans, only once per day or if it goes down.

i know it is working because when i claim the server i can see in the logs that GT is scanning the server

now when i go on my server page

i get this message:
THE SERVER YOU REQUESTED IS NOT IN THE GAMETRACKER DATABASE.
We could not find the server you requested. Some possible reasons for this error include:
The URL for this server was mis-typed or incorrect.
The IP address, DNS name, and/or port of this server has changed.
This server was deleted, or has not yet been added to GameTracker.

For sure my IP has changed thats why i use DynDNS
it seems to be GT can't re resolve >>> jmdolesky.dyndns-home.com:9987
when the IP has changed
i claimed the server once again today and its working

the problem is when i add the server to GT, GT ask :
Domain names must resolve to a static ip.

Great to know.

Feel free to set the page to use the DNS in the manage area. Again, DNS addresses resolve to IPs. You don't magically ignore IPs altogether.. GT just saves a step by scanning by IP and checking the DNS periodically.

So guys don't know from where can I start new threat so sorry for posting here. I have created a cs 1.6 server though i have a dynamic ip. I have created a domain from no-ip and also entered the domain in my server on game tracker but after I restart modem server is shown offline even though domain name is there. I also downloaded their desktop app of software which keep checking for ip changes but no use. I will be in forever in doubt of you if you guys solve mt problem.

Did you set the DNS for the server page? The DNS does not get set at Add, you need to claim it first.

I have claimed the server and add the domain name for server. Claimed it by setting the name to GameTrackerClaimServer claimed and then re named it. I also set the domain name.

Great, when GT detects an IP change, you'll notice the page update its IP. keep in mind that DNS is not propagated globally immediately.

OK, thanks but there is another problem I opened the port on my previous IP(from the router) and entered it on gametracker but since my IP is Dynamic do I have to keep opening port everytime my IP change. And tell me how does my friend can connect to my server using domain? Thanks for all the help so far.

So after some time game tracker changed the IP but it shows that the server is dead while my server was on the whole time. And my friends are not able to connect using my DNS that is tameemthegamer.no-ip.biz:27016. One more question after adding the domain is it necessary to put the port? And again do I have to keep opening ports? Thanks
