So I stopped the server, renamed it in the cfg file. Saved it all and synced the server. Started the server and I still get the same message that it is the wrong name. I haven't a clue if I did anything wrong but followed the instructions, step by step/

If it has failed, then you have failed to follow the instructions correctly.
