I know that over the years many people have asked for dynamic IP support and each time the requests have been denied for some reason.

I can only conclude this is because it could be abused to affect rankings.

So what about a merging option with a lot of restrictions?

such as:

1. The Old server must have been registered to your account.
2. The new server must be registered to your account and be no older than 24hrs
3. To merge a server the old server must be currently offline.
4. When merged all player Stats, blog posts bans and other features (excluding server ranking) are copied to the new server and the old server is deleted
5. The servers must match game ie BF2-BF2 is good but BF2-TF2 = Bad

In addition if you make it so a no-ip or dyndns address can be used on the tracker banner then users need only merge the server to get everything working again.

This means server ranking will still reset but someone building a community based around the server and tracker can still do so.

the process of merging:
1. register and take ownership of your server.
2. IP changes for some reason or new port is needed.
3. Register and take ownership of your server at its new address.
4. Select MERGE SERVER
5. Select the old server from the list of your servers( filtered to remove ones not matching the criteria
6. You will be given a code eg, GW2fg56AS4
7. Change the new servers title to the code.
8. Click continue
9. If the title matches the code the stats are copied over and the old server is deleted
10. Change server title back to normal.

Its a bit of work if your IP changes daily but if its only weekly or monthly then it would be extraordinarily helpful

Registration by DNS can solve that problem...

Ok I just need a bit of help. My ip address changes about once maybe twice a year. It just changed! I have re-added my server with new ip address and claimed ownership of it, but when i get to #4 where in the heck do i find the MERGE SERVER at? I do not see that link anywhere. Also could you possibly explain #5 a bit more? Thanks very much i really really do not want to lose my stats. Thanks again!

This is just a suggestion put forward by a GameTracker User. This has not been implemented so you cannot currently do it.
