Reporting A False Vent To Boost Rank With Idle "Bots"
May 27, 2011 2:13 AM
The vent: 69.28.221.141:3914 are using clients to boost their rank in Ventrilo Servers list by allowing phantoms in their Vent. They max out a 250 slot Vent when it is Password Protected. I'm sorry, but how is it possible someone can keep 187+ people in there Ventrilo the whole day when it is password protected? I'll also say this, they keep it Password Protected in case someone does report them here and you are not able to join to see.

I'm don't have the proof of screenshots or anything, but if I do find a way in I will get you some. Other than that, I would figure someone should check it out, because it's hard-to-believe they are capable of doing this with it being Password Protect.

Thanks!

I would also check if they have a website, if at all possible and get a hold of the Owners. We also had a webspage opened with all the people in their Ventrilo, refreshed the page around 6 hours later, and all the XXXXXXX's were in the same exact channels. Nobody moved around or left.

The XXXXXXX names are an indication that the server owner has set the server to not report player names. http://www.gametracker.com/games/ventrilo/forum.php?thread=54563

There are no phantoms in the server at this time. A phantom would have a ping of 0, none of which do.

They do not have an average close to 187 but the fact that it is a passworded server does not mean it is impossible to get a lot of users in the server - I'm not sure why you are making that implication.

As you already read, please post in the sticky thread next time for this instead of creating your own topic. It keeps the forums more organized.
