How do I deal with this problem -

"im running from steam and it just opens up singleplayer when I try to join a server so i cant play!:("

i am having the same problem i just installed gt lite and i press launch and same thing straight to single player. I have waited for the start up screens to pass and nothing just sits a main menu. Please a answer to this problem would be very helpful. Thank you.
