Ok, so I had a look on ingameservice.log and saw that GSInGameService was missing and then the software began an uninstall process...

The reason is that I had the (bad ?) idea to move the directory in a subfolder called "games"...
I removed the directory, made a new installation and left everything in Application folder. Now everything is fine.

So it is my fault.
Thank you for your time !

Hello again.

Great news! Thank you for posting your solution. I'm sure that other users will also find this useful.

You are correct - the mac version of GT Lite 1.3.x expects to reside in "/Applications/GameTracker". When any of the components are moved, it is assumed that GT Lite has been dragged to the trash and should uninstall.

We will try to make this side-effect more clear in the "unable to connect..." error message in a future release of GT Lite.

Best regards.

Hi. I had the same problem, but I'm running on windows xp. Just like yop_solo did I also tried removing it and installing the newest version but that didn't work. I also tried installing into another directory but it still doesn't work. Unlike him, I never moved gt's folder. Thanks for your help.

Hi blackbearx3,

I'm sorry to hear that you are also having this problem. This error is because GT Lite cannot communicate with a core component.

In some cases, security/firewall/anti-virus software may be filtering connections between the GTLite and GSInGameService processes on your computer. If you are running any of these types of programs, you could check to see if the are interfering with GT Lite or GSInGameService.

I don't think so. I've been using it for a couple of months without any problems and I haven't installed anything.

Hello again,

That's strange that it would suddenly stop working.

Is there a process on your computer running titled "GSInGameService.exe"?

Did you, or someone using your computer disable the "GS In-Game Service" under the windows services panel? If you are unfamiliar with the windows services panel, the following website has some screenshots on how to access it: http://www.jasonn.com/turning_off_unnecessary_services_on_windows_xp

Yep, the process is listed in the task manager and also in the win services panel (status: started, startup type:automatic)

Hi blackbearx3,

If you would be willing to post some log files, I may be able to give you a definite answer as to why you can't log in.

Basically, I would need any files located at:

"C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Application Data\"
"C:\Documents and Settings\NetworkService\Application Data\"
"%AppData%\GameTracker"

Please note that some of these files may contain sensitive information. I would recommend sending a link to me via a private message through GameTracker.

Hello blackbearx3,

I was able to review the files that you have sent me.

I do not see the definite reason why are you receiving this error. Based on the data in the your logs, it appears that GTLite.exe cannot connect to GSInGameService.exe. Based on everything that we have discussed, it still leads me to believe that their could be conflicting software. I would suggest closing any programs that you typically run, or run automatically on startup (Instant messengers, game tools, etc...), then stop/restart GSInGameService and GT Lite.

I will also forward your logs to the rest of the dev team, so that we can attempt to test on a similar configuration before our next major update.
