G'day,
I was renting a VPS in Sydney, Australia, running the games listed at the bottom of this thread, all was running fine for 2 months, but it seemed at my peak of running servers, that some form of bug got onto my VPS and was 'taking' high amounts of Upload Bandwidth of the server (500-600KB/sec speeds), and within hours reached my monthly quota, sending me into over-charge fees that I never actually used. After a month of battling the issue, which involved contacting my provider at the time, which didn't really believe me as I was 100 GB over my limit, they kindly reset it with no charge, but within the first 24 hours of being reset to 0 GB, I was at 26GB used, with no clients on any server I was hosting, even when all applications were closed, bandwidth was still 500 kilobytes a second upstream. I eventually got sick of it and changed provider, from Sydney, to Melbourne Australia, where all was fine for the first week / week and a half, until now, I notice the bug is back, but this is only as I now have most of them on GT I would like to know from admins of GT if it is GT that is responsible for a "data-leech" issue that I have with my rented server. I was told to check IPs connected to the VPS and there are none <-- I underline that as people don't believe me on that. Only IP connected to it is myself via RDC. Any help would be appreciated. Applications Hosted: Quake 3 Arena (2 Q3A, and 3 TeamArena) Unreal Tournament 3 (1 DM) Teeworlds (3, but not supported by GT) Vent (1 server, 100 slots) Mumble (250 slots) |

GT scanners would not use anywhere near the bandwidth you are experiencing. Additionally, GT does not constantly scan the server. There is a average 1-3 minute delay between each scan.

What if there were 7+ servers registered on GT from the same IP?.
Other than that, would you have any suggestions of what it could be?. |
