GameTracker Scoring

Can anyone tell me how GameTracker Scores the players?
My scores have suddenly dropped to about 1/4th this year. Has there been a change in scoring rules?

I would like to know these answers:

1. Are deaths subtracted from your score?
2. Are suicides subtracted from your score?
3. How Are you scored if you quit the game early or start late?
4. How about if you quit a game and come back in a few seconds?
5. Has anyone else seen a drop in their scoring?

Thanks in advance...

GameTracker records what it receives from the server. If whatever game you may be referring to has changed how it is reporting score, GT would show that value.

Some games subtract for deaths or suicides. Some do not. Please contact a game fansite if you cannot figure out how the ingame score works.

GameTracker reports what it sees when it scans every couple minutes. If something happens to you, like leaving the server, between each scan, GT will miss any changes that occurred during that interval.

If you have a score, leave, and come back before the round is over (and before GT scans a second time), GT may interpret it as a drop in your score due to TK or something. If you leave the server, GT scans and does not see you, then come back, you won't lose the previous number of points.

If you are not scoring as much, I'd imagine you are not doing as well ingame and thus, your score is not as high as it used to be. Otherwise, perhaps the server has less players so there are less players to play against for points.

Thanks for the info Burn.

The game is always Halo on the server I play on.

Yes the players and number of players has changed. The game is full (16) players all day. They are very good players. I might not be playing as well as before.

Admin have you even looked into the issue? It appears that GT is scanning the servers much less than it used to, and overall has been totally inconsistent the past few weeks. Sometimes it goes even longer between scans, I don't know if that is GT's or the servers' fault but you trying to explain it away by blaming it on how the servers keep score (we already know how the servers have been scoring us in the past and the rules have not changed) or that we're just not playing as well as we know we are is flimsy and ignorant of the problem. GT needs to investigate why the scanning frequency has dropped and rectify it, otherwise there's no point in us coming here. You can look at how the scoring stats have dropped over the past few weeks (for all players) compared to before and should know that it has nothing to do with changes in scoring rules nor a decrease in player performance.

Right now ATP Rockets server was last scanned over 12 minutes ago.

Please post your own topic (in bug reports if it is a bug) as it I am sure you are aware that it is actually NOT relevant to the post you choose to respond to.

You failed to post the link to the server, so I am assuming it is http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/68.232.168.109:2302/ With the number of lag spikes this server appears to have when just briefly monitoring it, I would not be too surprised that GT could have scanning issues.

What a useless response. You are sure I am aware that my post is not relevant to this topic? It is totally relevant. I failed to post the server link? Trifling. I'll post in bug reports with the expectation that you'll then stop making excuses and actually do something.

Please do. Otherwise, I am not sure what you expect GameTracker to do. When the server I posted just before was scanning perfectly fine, I could not find any bug based on the information you provided.

However, as I indicated, the server I posted has quite a number of lag spikes consistently. As much as we would want to be able to fix these situations, there comes to a point where the server owners have to get involved themselves.

You're right Pfffft, about the last few weeks. I thot no one else could see it....Thanks.

Also correct that I do play on ATP Rockets. My scores are down about 80% of what they were for the last 3 years.

Now I understand why ATP is banning Pings higher than 285. They also think it's lag then.

It is really useless to even join the game any more. Today my score was 0 even tho I played for a couple hrs. With pretty good scores.
