Hello!
As you already should know, GameSpy support for SWAT 4 has been discontinued; since then, SWAT 4 servers can't be added on GameTracker anymore (only the servers that didn't crash are still in GameTracker list). Everytime I try to add a server, GameTracker tells me that the server is offline (even if it's fully working and reachable); I believe that GameTracker tries to query the GameSpy master-server (which has been stopped) in order to check if the server-to-add is online, and obviously gets no response because the master-server is offline. In addition, I believe that SWAT 4 servers can be simply checked by sending the string "\status\" through UDP to the server Query port; I'm here to ask if this problem can be fixed as I just tried to explain, or if there's no hope for SWAT 4 servers. P.S. The server I'm trying to add is 188.40.97.180 (join port 7480, query port 7481). Regards!

Hello,
Yes, I'm sorry to hear that SWAT4 has been discontinued. GameTracker does not query the GameSpy master-server, but instead the SWAT4 servers themselves. The query format sent by GameTracker is not the "\status\" string. Instead, it is a format that was originally designed by GameSpy. I'd imagine that you could not add your server due to one of the following reasons: 1. Your query port 7481 was blocking GameTracker. Could you verify this? Details on whitelisting GameTracker are in this thread: http://www.gametracker.com/forums/forum.php?site=1&thread=42545 2. The SWAT4 servers do not listen for GameSpy formatted queries without being able to communicate with the master server. You could test this with HLSW. If this is the case, then is there anything in the server config which will force the server to listen for these types of queries? Best regards. |

Hello.
GameTracker is not blocked because the server was registered successfully before the master-server went down. Probably the second point is the problem we're looking for, because HLSW can't query the server but I made a little application that queries the server successfully sending "\status\" through UDP. GameTracker won't change his query method, right? So the only way to fix this problem is a game mod. Regards.

Hello again,
I don't have an answer right now as to whether or not GameTracker will implement a custom scan using the "\status\" format for SWAT4. Yes, as you mentioned, another option would be a mod for SWAT4 which re-enables the existing GameSpy query format. |
