My Trend Micro Titanium wont let me download the new update. It says that there is a TROJ_FAKEAV.BMC in the file. Should I be worried?

GT Lite does not have any viruses. Can you take a screenshot of the message, along with indicate which version of GT Lite you are downloading and which Trend Micro product you are using?

Hi peterde,
Thanks for posting this. Yes, trend micro also picked up GTSetup on virus total: https://www.virustotal.com/file/5c6346f6a190e01c1dcffec544a95a3ea70c670649e33dc93bcdf0ece816aabc/analysis/ This is most likely related to GTSetup's automatic download of runtime components. If you feel that the download is safe, I would consider changing your trend micro settings to allow downloads from installer.gametracker.com. You may need to consult the product manual or their support team for instructions. |
