anytime i do one of these three things it stops midway and tells me the connection was reset.

I believe the connection reset message in web browsers usually occur when you take too long to upload file. You might try scaling the image down to a smaller, but still acceptable size and see if there is any difference. For example, there is no reason to upload a 1280x1024px image for a map when GT only shows them as 160x120px. Likewise, there is no reason to upload a map image that is 3MB when scaling it down to 100KB would likely work fine.

Do you have a decent upload speed?

The avatar i uploaded when i attempted was only about 20 KB and i have 10 Mbps down and 2 mbps up in terms of internet so I don't know why im experiencing any problems at all.
