Hello,
I just uploaded 84 map images for Left 4 Dead 1. They are straight from the game files, so the images are 100% accurate. I have more images to upload. However, while doing this, I've noticed that in the "Upload Map Image" page, when you select the game as "Left 4 Dead", not only does it list the maps for Left 4 Dead, but it also incorrectly lists all maps from Counter Strike Source, Team Fortress 2, and Left 4 Dead 2. This is very wrong as this game doesn't have over 13 thousand maps (though I wish it did). This makes the map list for this game very difficult to navigate through. Anyway you can exclude the maps form those other games? If you'd like I can provide a list of the accurate maps from Left 4 Dead. Thanks. EDIT: The only maps from Left 4 Dead 2 that are actually currently available and playable for Left 4 Dead 1 are the following, so you can keep these in particular on the list: c5m1_waterfront c5m2_park c5m3_cemetery c5m4_quarter c5m5_bridge The remainder of the official Left 4 Dead 2 maps will soon be available for Left 4 Dead 1. So I guess you can keep those on the list as well. But all other customs that don't belong in the Left 4 Dead 1 section should be removed. ¿Quiere una copia gratis de L4D? The upload drop down box lists every map name seen under each game. If you are seeing map names you notice from another game, there are a couple possible options:
1. There is a map with that name under the second game as well. 2. A server under a second game was listed under the first game until the site automatically detected the change in game type. Unfortunately it is not possible to "clean" up the listings with any decent accuracy. I would recommend you try out the "Map Starts With:" option. This will help you search for the map image you are looking for, as opposed to reading each item individually. ![]() |

burn wrote: I was thinking this was the case, but I searched for some of those maps for Left 4 Dead and nothing comes up anywhere for it. They only show up for the other games I mentioned. Only some maps which are in both Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 are actually accurate, but outside of those there are a ton of maps from other games that shouldn't be listed under either Left 4 Dead 1 or 2. burn wrote: I see. How about a way to flag/report maps that don't belong listed under that game? burn wrote: Yes that's how I added the ones I submitted. I'll keep doing it this way then. ¿Quiere una copia gratis de L4D? Envíeme un correo electrónico y te lo enviaré. |

It's a "historical" listing of the maps seen for that game. Servers do not need to be using the actual map at the current time in order to upload an image for it.
As much as I understand how much this frustrates you, it would take an incredible amount of time to verify the information. Either way the lists for most games would still be incredibly long so there would be little to no difference. ![]() |

burn wrote: Oh, when I said I looked for those maps, I meant that I looked to see if they were available anywhere for download and actually playable for this game (and many of them are not). burn wrote: Yeah I know what you mean considering that it is a ton. Just figured I'd report it since I know a lot about this game (and 13,000+ maps sounds very wrong. It's more than likely under 1,500). But don't sweat it then and thanks. ¿Quiere una copia gratis de L4D? Envíeme un correo electrónico y te lo enviaré. |
