Bots aren't detected on this server:

Suggestion: If "Time Played" exceeds 24h, count such a player as a bot!

I had put this into "Bug Reports" because it's a bug IMHO, not sure why it got moved to "General Help"? The above server is ranked higher than it should be, because GameTracker mistakes the bots for real players. This should be forwarded to the GameTracker programmer(s).

HLSW and a mIRC script I have calculate this correctly, without having to check the "time played". Here, maybe this helps: https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Server_Queries#Obsolete_GoldSource_Response

Can you let me know why the amount of time played is a surefire way to detect if a player is a bot? I'm a bit confused as to why time played would be good bot detection.

We also allow a few undetected bots to be on servers, and no one has expressed a problem with that.
I am retired from GameTracker after 11 years and will not be responsive for support requests.

Oh sorry I confused it with "time connected" - which wouldn't work well with other games though, e.g. in TF2 people get item drops for idling.

Your current bot detection seems good enough, never mind.
