I have my first server up and running and registered here to claim it but now I have to wait two weeks to do so.
Can I ask this humble question, "why do I have to wait two weeks?" The whole purpose for me to register on here was to claim ownership. Right now, this regulation seems very pointless so if someone could explain to me the reason why, I would appreciate it. |

The effective two weeks claim protection is in place to reduce any spammers that try to use the claim process. It is a limit that may be removed in the future, but there are no immediate plans for.

There is nothing currently in place to manually get around it.

Spammers who do what?!
Creating servers on the fly and adding/claiming them in huge amounts ? Sounds a lot like an easy way out for have'ing not enough moderators! Also, like creating a good verification proces is that hard... and even if that is, you can still give support to people who come to the forum listing the servers they need claimed... (and don't tell me you have no override, i am in the IT business for years and yes, you can override server claims, or if you really cant, you dev/it dep. sucks balls!)... Your excuse is "wont change, wouldn't give support for your situation either". But reading through your forums, it seems that your support for gamehost-admins is a lot worse than for players... most of the time it ends in a line like "our policy, wont change" or "we don't care, not our problem". This gets confirmed by gametrackers to fast respone times, if you would give support, you would not just send people "wont help" replies in massive amounts in 60 minutes. Sad, cause those people you guys deny service are the ones making your service worthwhile!

Galena, I'm very sorry you haven't given it much thought nor read my previous replies. GT is highly catered around server admins, as most of the features are designed so.
The process at hand is effective for what it was in place for, and unfortunately I cannot go into any specifics. As you read above, it will likely be removed in the future. There's no enough purpose to spend hours adding additional features or making exceptions individually for a temporary measure. Come on, you have to at least know how cost/benefit works. ![]() |
