Server 'Lost'

Hello,

Today I was moving our servers from Montreal, to Chicago, but have had a few issues with the DNS.

My server, jb.tangoworldwide.net(Originally) was rank 133, and had almost 28,500+ players in its stats. It seems to have completely disappeared, and has been replaced by bhop.tangoworldwide.net. (I was attempting to move our other server as well).

I don't so much as care about the CS:GO rank, as we can always get that back, but for the 28,500 players, I'm concerned this server is lost. It looks like someone had registered all the IPs to our new servers, of course never claiming ownership over them, but it came quite quickly after I lived them. What leads me to think this, is the IPs were in GameTracker, yet we've owned the IPs for over 2 weeks, and never have had the colo set up prior, so these IPs would've been removed from the GT-Database after 2 weeks (I think this is the correct time limit, not entirely sure though).

In short:
Is the rank 133, jb.tangoworldwide lost forever? (Confirming before I readd it).
I believe it was an error on our side with two dns's pointing to the same IP. We manage our DNS via cloudflare, and I'm almost certain I clicked the wrong IP box to edit.

Many Thanks,
balon

To update hte IP of a page via DNS, you should:

1. Go to the original server page, enter DNS
2. Change the IP the DNS points to when you are ready
3. If needed, claim the new page if it is already on the website
4. Wait for GT to update the original page to the new IP

When the IP of the page changes from the original to the new IP, the original IP will completely replace the new server. It doesn't merge them, so trying to use the DNS feature to move multiple server pages to a single pages would cause some data to be lost.

Did you use the feature in the wrong direction?

I have used this feature back in January, when I transfered my servers; we used DNS so we would not lose any of the stats. I believe I used it in the 'correct' direction, or at least intended to. I understand I cannot move servers to singular pages.

I had 2 servers;
167.114.57.215 (jb.tangoworldwide.net) Moving to 104.128.51.135.
The server was using the DNS jb.tangoworldwide.net so when I changed where the DNS was pointing in CloudFlare, I set the TTL to 2 minutes, and it did transfer successfully.

198.50.183.161 (bhop.tangoworldwide.net) Moving to 104.128.51.137.
The server was not using DNS, but when updated to bhop.tangoworldwide.net, this is when the problems occurred. I had a typo in the DNS, instead of 137, 135 (same as JB) was accidentally entered. I fixed it really quick, but I don't think I fixed it before GT changed the old BHOP to the new IP.

This would've pointed both servers to 104.128.51.135, instead of one at .137.

So is the original 167.114.57.215 gone? If it is, can the 'stats' be recovered to a new server if I add it? I'd hate to lose all 28,500 player(s) stat's, but the sooner I can confirm they are definitely gone, the sooner I'll re-add Jailbreak and start rebuilding again.

I do understand this a is a big mess, and my apologies for two long messages.

Thank you,
balon

If 215 moved to 135, then 161 moved to 135, the resulting stats would be 161's. We don't have an undelete feature for the stats removed due to DNS changes.

You deleted 104.128.51.135:27015 yesterday. I could delete the existing page and undelete the stats that were there previously, but I cannot guarantee those stats would be the one you are looking for.

Right now I can still see a .135
http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/njb.tangoworldwide.net:27015/

(So if it's a different one you see deleted, great.)

All I know is those 'deleted' stats, that got overwritten for the 215 to 135, then 161 that accidentally replaced it, had over 28,000 player(s) hours, so if you can check before undeleting, to confirm those are the stats, that'd be great. If that isn't an option, I'd like to try what you said above.

Worth a shot before I just start fresh.

Many thanks burn!

I tried to undelete the server from yesterday, but unfortunately, the 28k stats were not present when you deleted it. Unfortunately the stats will be unrecoverable.

Note: The undelete process does reset the page owner, so you the page will appear unclaimed until you reclaim it for 104.128.51.135:27015.

Alright.

Thank you for all your time and help in the matter. Was worth a shot before adding the server fresh.

Thanks again!
