Hello, how do you rank the DayZ SA Servers? Because some Servers have a better average per month then other but are not ranked higher. Are you ranking per week?

The server rank isn't monthly.
I don't know exactly, but it is closer to weekly (the last 7 days).
More of a 'rolling window' approach.
It's not specific to a game type, it's just how Gametracker does it.

Yes, or at least many server owners seem to think that.
The sheer panic in many of the posts from many server administrators when they discover their server hasn't been scanned for 30 seconds, or is not actually second by second up to date, with 'reality' is astonishing.

The Gametracker site itself and server statistics are simply not suitable for that. In the current format, it just can't be.

It's been posted quite a few times here, but the short version is;
Gametracker attempts to scan every server approximately once every 4 minutes.
The displayed status on a server's page is likely to be the scan before the last. So a minimum of 8 minutes out of date.
Keep in mind there are around 100,000 servers registered (if my estimates are correct), and that has to take some time.


Gametracker stats are however useful for seeing which servers are most popular and most likely to be busy.
For owners and administrators, it shows them how they are doing in general compared to others over the medium term ( 7 days or so) and longer term (monthly).

Rank is computed per game based on the popularity of servers in comparison to other servers within that game for the past 7 days. So that is based on GameTracker scanning your server & updating the page every 1-4 minutes over those 7 days. Averages per month are a general indicator, but will not exactly match (because it is a different timeframe) and can be misleading (like if the server was added yesterday).
