Isn't there some sort of way to require the person trying to link a player from a server to a GameTracker account to have to verify that the player is really him.
Anyone can click on any player name on any server and link that player to their profile. We have had issues over and over with the same guy linking all our players to his profile and it gets quite annoying. All you can do is report the person and hope that his account gets shut down, which his last one did, but now he's back with a new one. Here is this person's profile who keeps linking our server players and members to his profile: http://www.gametracker.com/sc_team-ddos-attack_/ |

Hi, yes we've banned that user every single time he has been around. GT admins review abuse reports daily and nearly every report is resolved within 24 hours.
In terms of your request of adding security to the nicknames, one of the problems with doing so is having the ability to prove that one account owns exclusive rights to using the name. If you can - please provide a good process that can be implemented, that is not specific to just one game, that would accomplish the type of security you're looking for. Without that, it may never arrive. I'll just add in an idea for the devs that comes to my mind: Server owners to be able to disable nickname linking all together on the page Server owners to be able to remove individual links ![]() |

I really don't know of any way to provide that type of security, as you said, many names can be used by many different people, and the fact that there are many different games/servers, it would probably be nearly impossible.
I guess maybe a way for server owners to remove a linked profile, if it's not the correct profile linked to the player would be sufficient, if possible. |
