I looked through the guide and FAQs, and did not see the question I have.

Simply put, what exactly is the player score for BF4 servers via gametracker?

Is it total kills in the server? Or anything else?

I see score/min anywhere from 0-1.5 on average, on the player scale.

Irrespective of game server type, it will be whatever the server reports as a current score via it's query interface.

Historical scores / averages on the other hand are calculated by gametracker based upon the original information supplied by the game server.

Note that the gametracker data displayed is not 'live'.
Servers are scanned (very approximately) once every 4 minutes.
Calculations are made (very approximately) hourly.
