You must change the name of the actual game server.
How this is done is specific to the game type.

You may need to restart the server to get the name change to take effect.
I am retired from GameTracker after 11 years and will not be responsive for support requests.

Which property did you change in the server.properties file, and did the server show this name when browsing for it?

It seems odd that the new name has not been picked up by the Gametracker server page, as it does seem to be successfully scanning your server.

I don't know Minecraft, but I realise there is not an in-game server browser. Do you have any means of ensuring that the server name was actually changed after modifying the server.properties.server-name, and restarting the server?

I assume you left the server running with the new name for now?

Yes, i have left a server with a new name . I don't know whether there is any means of ensuring that the server name was actually changed after modifying the server.properties

You could try this;

Youtube video instructions here;

I've not used it myself, but it might help you.

You need to change the motd similar to how is mentioned in here:

http://www.gametracker.com/games/minecraft/forum.php?thread=58741

Once you do that, you can restart the server.

Please note you should only specify the MOTD once, not multiple times in your config.

If it doesn't work, post the full configuration file here with sensitive information masked out.
