hello,

I try to claim my own server here for almost a week, but it keeps saying that It's unable to resolve or something, and I have to restart my server.

How many restarts are needed, because meanwhile I restarted my server multiple times, and still getting this message....

"We are unable to verify that your server name is 'GameTrackerClaimServer' "

just a bunch of bullsh!t after that, saying that I have to rename server or something, and it's currently called how the server is called and showed @ GT.

Hope you can help me with this annoying message, because everything is set right, and it should just work with info I uploaded here.

1. Description of what steps you are taking to try to claim the server
2. Link to the server
3. A copy of your server configuration (with any sensitive information masked out) showing where you set the name to GameTrackerClaimServer temporarily.

Of course, we can also give you additional advice such as to make sure you are editing the correct configuration file. Also ensure that the server name line is not repeated multiple times in your configuration file.

Providing us with information like this that allows us to help you will allow us to give you more personalized tips.

I dont get it:

I made a page here for my server
The name is exactly the same as my server:

I go to the server page below

I click on claim server, put in the robot code, and then it gives the message that it fails.
As long I dont claim the server, I can not edit the name on this page.
I hoper you dont mean that I have to change the name in the server config file itself, that would be vissible to anybody, and is just a stupid/ridiculous and very user-unfriendly way to get this done.
If it has to be done in the config file of server itself, please remove my server from the list here, not going to do that and restart en keep editing configs for that.

To claim ownership of this server:

1) Change your server's name to "GameTrackerClaimServer". (or just add it to the name)
2) Verify that your server is up, running, and displaying the server name "GameTrackerClaimServer".

GameTracker is a tracking service. You didn't do that on your GameTracker server page to begin with.

The process takes people less than a minute to do. We have no other alternatives to prove you own the server.

you forget that I have to restart the server twice for that, what means a down time of 10 minutes at least.

GG for making this so difficult, and not telling this when somebody ads a server here.

I'm going to remove the server here, this setup of changing the name is just retarded. Other promotion sites uses steam, never had problems there so I will just keep it there.

this is realy fustrating -.- I just tried to remove the server, but I need to claim it first.
When I try to ad the server again without query, It wont let me??

As owner I just should be able to remove my server from sites where I dont want it, right?!

You are the first person to let us know that your server takes so long to restart. We can certainly keep that in mind when planning future updates to the site. The process to claim the server is actually quite easy and we very seldom get any sort of complaint on it.

Most games have the ability to use RCON commands in game to change the server name. If your game supports this, that would be even easier than a restart.

In the link above, there are the methods of having a server removed from the site.

It's just that I have to change my server name, I dont care about start-up time, I have a fast server.
I dont care about editing, thats done easaly.
I care about having to put the gametracker bullshit into my servername in order to claim the server or just to get it removed.

Now I have a server in the list here, and I can not remove my own server without doing that extra work, going against my principals!

Please, make an note for people that want to ad a server here, with the steps you need to do in order to claim, before they ad servers!!

Iff I knew I had to do this I would never make a profile here!
