My issue is that I wish to claim a server in DayZ. When I attempt to change the name of the server to 'GameTrackerClaimServer' over the GameServers website I can't. I can't because when I enter the required hostname it tells me that the server name is already in use.

Basically, somebody has named their DayZ server 'GameTrackerClaimServer' and has not taken the time to change it back. Now, when anybody else tries to claim their server you can't, since the hostname is already in use.

See the issue?

Any suggestions on claiming this server I would appreciate.

Add your server with it's 'real' name first.
Then do the name change and claim.

Per the instructions, the server name only needs to CONTAIN the text. You can do "1GameTrackerClaimServer", "zGameTrackerClaimServer", etc.

Thanks for your suggestion, I renamed the server a couple hours ago with the text included. Still waiting for the updated hostname from GameTracker so I can claim it.

You can click the Claim Ownership button as soon as the server is actually using it. GT will query the server to find it's name when you click it.

If it's not working when you think it should, either:

1. The server is not using that name at the moment. You may need to restart it for changes to take effect.
2. The query port is not correct on the page and GT is showing a different server as a result.
