when I try to close (yes, delete) my account it says that premium users cannot close their account (which I already knew) but thing is, I'm not a premium user.

Did you in the past attempt to sign up for a premium plan and/or ended your membership?

If you did so and you see a prompt to re-open your account; for some reason it is still considered as a premium account subsequently disallowing you to close your account.
