DNS Change Help

I had changed my DNS and now GameTracker is "freaking out" about it. Aren't these supposed to be on automatic?

Or why is it that I cannot view my Minecraft server anymore. Both of them were online in order to try to make this as simple as possible for this swap.

Is this it? Seems to be sorted now. GameTracker does freak out a bit until the domain gets properly updated in their servers. In case it freak out again, replace the domain name with direct IP address in your GameTracker server page, or use this link as an example.

You are correct I do now see my server at this point in time. Thank you for helping me understand this was indeed normal for me to expect when it first changes over.

It does take some amount of time for changes to propagate.

GT will automatically change the IP of the server page to the new IP. The new server page will be deleted, if it exists on the website (and you've claimed it).
GT checks the DNS address to see if the IP has changed once per day, or more often if the server is offline.

It can take longer or appear in error temporarily if:

- How long it takes the DNS IP change to propagate.
- If the original server is online or offline.
- The new server is not online
- The new server is already on the website but not claimed.
