GameTracker ping Unreal Tournament servers too often (10 times per seconds)

From my observation GT ping UT (Unreal Tournament) servers 10 times per seconds. Which is too often and not really need.

I recently start limit IPs which ask more then 2 times per seconds in a row. After that I start see how my server start goes to "offline" in GT.
Such easy explain - GT ping servers too often, and protection stop respond to that IP. So GT see server as offline.

UT process one server request per game tick. So if server use 10 ticks per seconds, GT pinger fully eat all server tick quota. So real players can get timeout, when query server.

I not see any reason why GT need update server status 10 times per seconds. 1 time per second look pretty enough for that.

Request to GT admins: reduce ping rate for UT servers.

Also I think this issue happen also with ut2004 servers as well, so will be good if admins check that too.

Well, when on GT, servers blink online-offline and goes to red, it look more as bug.

With respect, a bug is defined as the system is not operating within design specifications.
In this case it is doing as it has always done.

This appears to be a specific issue for your (possibly others) UT servers.
This does not invalidate your request (though I have no idea personally if it possible to accommodate it).
However it has not been mentioned in connection with any other game server types that I am aware of, having watched these forums for 14 years.

It not visible. it create additional load for game servers, and prevent get info for usual players.

However, now players left not so much, so it appear not do often.

In general it deeply tech info, which not visible and hard to explain, since it appear random.

What can be done - GT can ping servers 1 time per second. Which basically enough for any goal.

Also in old versions of UT exists bug, on special conditions and specific setup, any server ping can make high spikes on server load. This together with ping 10 times per seconds can really kill server to unplayable state.

Such thing exists for years, but only recently discovered reason.
And nobody ever can think about connection between server query and server lags.

Just as related example about thing which can be exists in years and nobody report / aware of it. Or not link it with real reason.
