Gametracker could not scan the server.

Hi,

Can you explain why I am unable to add my UT2004 server to Gametracker.com ... ?!?
I am able to connect to it with a client from the LAN and WAN and it is listed inside the game and on openspy.net
My client (Windows 10) and my server (Debian 12 container) are running the latest version 3369.

The queryport is automatically set at 7777 + 10, so there is not much I can change about that.

I turned off the firewall for that container and I am using a portforward rule to it that I cloned from another one that is successfully working.
White listing the Gametrackeer scanning ip addresses is something that I unsuccessfully tried, and I am unwilling to keep using that situation, because it wasn't nesseceary for my demo version, so I refuse to use it now.
A while ago I was listed on Gametracker.com with the demo of UT2004 version 3334, so I did it before.

A few weeks ago I also send you a message, but I never received an answer.

This is the error message I get and researching it online didn't geive me any usefull results:
One of the following suggestions may help you:

Your server is currently offline.
GameTracker needs your server to be online before you can add it to our database. Please restart your server and make sure it's up before hitting ADD SERVER again.
You entered the wrong query port.
Please update your query port and hit scan again
Your server is firewalled.
Please turn off any firewall you have that may block scanning or whitelist the gametracker scanning IP addresses:
149.28.43.230
45.77.96.90
108.61.78.150
108.61.78.149

Please advice,

Judge

As far as I can tell, you have only made one forum post, and this is it.

My signature is quite specific (as are most other moderators and admins); "I do not reply to private message requests for support." This is why we have the forums.

See: My server will not add or shows as down, what should I do?
and: GameTracker scanner IP addresses

Thanks for replying.

I read both links you send and there was nothing new in it for me that I didn't try before.

Even when my server is listed correctly on "http://beta.openspy.net/en/server-list/ut2004" and I am able to connect to it from the LAN & WAN (from the in game server list and with the IP's) I am still unable to add it to gametracker.

The portforwarding rules allow all ip's to connect so it makes no sense to whitelist specific server ip's.

The problem started when there was a global issue with gametracker after I changed server from ClearOS to NethServer 7 to Proxmox (Debian based) and as far as I am considered the problem is still not resolved.

The fact that I don't post much should not make any difference.

As there are close to 200 UT2004 servers, in addition to 10s of thousands of other game servers, currently registered and scanning successfully on Gametracker it is only logical to conclude that the problem is at your end somewhere.

Regarding UT2004 servers specifically there are no known issues specific to the game type when it comes to being scanned by GT so the advice pages I have provided are pretty much the full extent of the advice available.

Regardless of whether a piece of advice in those pages seems relevant it is better to follow the advice than ignore it.

It is also worth noting that GT scanners are particularly fussy about the query port whereas many other game based web services/pages are not.

It is also worth ensuring that other players no where near your network or ISP can also connect to your server.

I have made some progress.
I confirmed that a signal from GameTracker master server successfully passes true my firewall by checking the live view (happens when I press Add Server).

Interface Time Source Destination Proto Label
LAN 2024-10-27T17:02:49 45.77.96.90:60840 192.168.100.142:7787 udp let out anything from firewall host itself
See Packet Capture

I posted this in the OPNsense forum, but the problem is still not solved.

Not sure how to continue troubleshooting, but it looks like it could be that the problem is not on my side.

Please advice.

Firstly; Are you certain your server query port is configured in the game configuration?
You must not assume that the default port supplied by GT is correct for your server.

Please post your IP address and port numbers.
You may use a PM if you prefer but these will be exposed when adding the server to Gametracker in any case.

My ports have been described in this post:
Game servers (lxc) cannot be listed and are unreachable for master servers
(And I have tried the other available ports as well.)

The Game port is set to default 7777 = n (same as with ClearOS) and afaik the Query port is automatically set to n+10 = 7787.
I will PM you my ip address, because that will only need to be exposed after my server is successfully added to GT.

Thanks in advance.

Link failed.
"Oops! We ran into some problems."

Please send the port numbers.

I am unable to ping (ICMP echo) your IP address.
For the purpose of adding your server it would be best to disable, or at the least, make as open as possible your firewall.

Once added you may experiment with restrictions.

I have PM'ed you my ip address and port numbers.
I also added a rule to echo ping requests, because I cannot disable my FW, because of my portforwarding and NAT.

Is there maybe a problem with the UT2K4 server why GT can connect to it, but it does not respond to GT ... ?!?

Re: [SOLVED] Game servers not listed and are unreachable for master servers

Is there maybe a var that I should set in UT2004.ini, like QueryPort= ... ?!?

I assumed that the QueryPort is the GamePort + 10

PS.
I already posted this on the UT forum
