hey hi there I want to report that recently, I've just noticed right now, our Quake III Arena server 188.165.52.79 has been completelly reinitializated by the system here, this is, it's page has been reinitializated, it has been disapiered from favorites, clan and so on, like if it wouldn't never existed before here, but it would have been automatically added now. I don't know why this could happen, at least, I personally don't see any apparent reason, as far I know, no one hacked me the account (even so, I think that it's not possible to this kind of reinitialization) and I'll investigate further but initially I don't think that can be something wrong with it to cause this.
here you can see how the server looks now (I'll wait 24h to reclaim it again) http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/188.165.52.79:27960/ and in this snap you can see how it looked few days ago http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:c9BGfABOPOcJ:www.gametracker.com/server_info/188.165.52.79:27960/+188.165.52.79+site:gametracker.com&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It appears that this server was deleted from the system and then re-added on 2010-11-09 01:11:11 EST.
It is possible to manually delete a server from the server administration page. There are a few automated scripts that cleanup servers periodically. Its possible there is a bug in one of these scripts that would account for this server having been deleted. We will be monitoring these scripts more closely in the future. Unfortunately, once a server is deleted, all related information is purged from the system and cannot be recovered. |

yes, ok, I understand thanks for answer.
no, of course, I didn't deleted it, at least not voluntary, I mean, even possible, I don't see probable that I pressed that button by mistake, specially when I found this later, not while on the site. yes, I know about the automatic cleanup here, I think that it's what remove servers that were inactive for more than 100 days (just a aproximation, I didn't precisely count them) here. ok, thanks for your support, then if you decide to review the system, here are a few things that I believe that you can take into account: 1) that server was deranked in the past (around 6 months) by the moderators here then I don't know if that could tigger some kind of cleanance switch. 2) it precisely coincided that at the time range that I noticed that the server disappeared, yesterday in the morning, the server was experience some problems due a misconfiguration of the system, a misconfiguration that nothing has to do with run a server for another game, external plugins or anything, that could have lead it to report incomplete, corrupt or just invalid data that could have been misinterpreted by the system here and that it could be what tiggered the deletion, then I think that you should take a look about how the system handles wrong data. also I would like to request that I think that it would be a good idea if you add some kind of pool in your system for the deleted data prior to complete wipe out in a fashion simliar as how the system here handle closed accounts, this account will be closed in x time. so it will be good if for example before procced to complete erase of the server by the system this reports something like, this server has been moved to the delete queue due <reason> and all its related data will be automatically removed by the system in x time, 10 days for example, in my opinion, it would be a reasonable time, this way you'll eliminate this kind of problems. regards -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
